Welcome to the FAQ page for Howard South West Photography; I’m Hayley, and I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re planning a wedding in Cornwall, Devon, or anywhere across the South West, or you're simply looking for natural, relaxed photography for your family, brand, or a couple’s shoot, you’re in the right place.

Here are some of the questions I’m most often asked. I hope they help, but if there’s anything else you’re wondering, just get in touch!

What areas do you cover?

I’m based in Launceston, Cornwall, and cover weddings, couple shoots, and lifestyle photography across Devon, Cornwall, and the wider South West of England. From coastal spots like Widemouth Bay, Padstow, and Salcombe, to countryside venues in Tavistock, Trevenna, Dartmoor, Exeter, and Plymouth – I love creating images in beautiful, natural settings. I cover all of Devon and Cornwall, and I’m always happy to travel further afield if needed.

What’s your photography style?

My style is natural, candid, and story-driven. I capture the honest, unposed moments that reflect the real atmosphere of your day - from windswept elopements on the coast to joyful celebrations in rustic barns. Expect warm light, real emotion, and a relaxed experience.

Do you photograph more than weddings?

Yes! While I specialise in wedding photography in Cornwall and Devon, I also offer:

How long have you been a photographer?

I photographed my first wedding in 2011 and spent several years working professionally, capturing everything from heartfelt ceremonies to creative portrait and commercial shoots. I’ve always kept my camera close - photographing for the love of it. Now, with a fresh perspective and upgraded kit, I’m ready to tell your story through honest, heartfelt images.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Absolutely! These are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. We can meet somewhere meaningful; think cliffs, moorland, or your favourite beach, and capture some relaxed, golden-hour magic.

How do we book you?

Do you offer video or drone footage?

Yes! I offer drone photography and short promotional films as add-ons to my wedding and commercial packages. These are perfect if you're after sweeping views of your venue or a cinematic highlight reel.

Can we meet before the wedding?

Definitely. I like to get to know my couples so I can tell your story well. We can meet in person (if you're local to Devon or Cornwall) or have a relaxed Zoom chat. I’m always here to answer questions.

Do you work alone or with a second shooter?

Most weddings I photograph solo, but I can bring a second shooter if you're planning a larger celebration or want coverage from multiple angles. Just let me know what you’re envisioning.

How long until we get our photos?

You’ll receive a preview gallery within 1 week, and your full, hand-edited gallery within 4–6 weeks, depending on the season. I always aim to deliver sooner if I can.

Will we receive high-resolution images?

Absolutely! You’ll receive a private online gallery with web-optimised images perfect for sharing with friends and family. If you book full day coverage, you'll also get a personalised, engraved USB in a beautiful presentation box, filled with all your high-resolution images, ready for printing and keeping safe.

Are you insured?

Yes- I am fully insured. I am also DBS checked and I am qualified in emergency first aid. Just in case!
